RSVSR Shredder Tips for ARC Raiders Thruster Weak Spots Guide

I didn't get why people kept talking about the Shredder until I heard that first metallic whine and watched it drift into view like it owned the place. If you're still figuring out loadouts and scav runs, it helps to know what you're risking when you chase ARC Raiders Items through Stella Montis, because this thing turns a calm route into a full-on scramble in seconds. It's not huge, not a "boss" in the obvious way, but it doesn't need to be. The moment it spots you, it starts playing the map in three dimensions, and your usual cover suddenly feels kind of pretend.

Why it feels like it's everywhere at once

Most ARC units can be managed with simple habits: keep distance, break line of sight, rotate around rocks. The Shredder doesn't care. It floats. It slides over rubble, peeks over low walls, and follows you through doorways like it's been there before. You'll duck into a corridor thinking you've bought two seconds to reload, and it'll just drift after you and sit in the middle like a bouncer. The worst part is the angle game. You're aiming chest-high out of habit, but it's above you, beside you, then right behind you. You end up turning your camera more than you're shooting.

Its attacks punish the "normal" responses

The Shredder's kit is built to wreck the stuff squads naturally do under stress. First, there's the 360 shrapnel burst. People bunch up when they're scared, or when they're trying to share cover, and that blast makes everyone pay. In a tight room it's brutal, because you can't "step out" of it; it's already in your lap. Then comes the charged cone attack. You'll see the glow and hear the rising hum, and that's your cue to stop being brave. Don't try to out-DPS it. Break the angle with a pillar, a doorway, anything solid, then re-peek once it fires.

How to bring it down without burning every med

A lot of players waste ammo on the body and wonder why nothing changes. The cleanest way is to focus the thrusters. Tagging them can stagger the Shredder and, more importantly, mess with its ability to keep perfect pressure. That stagger window is where you unload. If you've got grenades, use them with intention: toss when it commits to a lane or when it hovers low in a doorway, not when it's free-floating and likely to drift away. Burst damage helps. So does assigning roles on the fly—one person calls the charge, one keeps eyes on exits, one commits to thruster shots instead of panicking.

Making the fight worth it

Once you start treating the Shredder like a positioning problem, not just a damage sponge, the whole encounter changes. You rotate early, you keep spacing, and you stop chasing it into rooms that only have one way out. That's when the loot feels earned, not lucky, and your runs get a lot more consistent. If you're gearing up between drops, it's also easier to stay ready without overcommitting to one "perfect" build, especially if you've got access to cheap ARC Raiders gear that lets you experiment and still walk into Stella Montis with confidence.
